On May 6th at the 5th grade patio, Middle School students had a talent show for all that wanted to show their ability.

The student council planned the activity for 5th and 6th grade students. For example, some played a song on piano, some sang, and others beat boxed.

Miss Andrea Yara, Deputy Head of Middle, said, “it was great to see all students wanting to take part and showing all different talents, skills and abilities. Most of all, it was a surprise to see some pupils performing in areas in which they could do so well.”

Mr. Rodrigo Cerda, a Music teacher, supervised the performances to make sure everything went well, and mentioned it was a great show. “The thing about students being on stage is that, the students in the audience see themselves performing as well. So, it shows them they all can achieve good things.”

Tomas Grubb, a 5th grade student, decided to "Rick-roll" the whole Middle Section by singing Rick Astley's 80s hit which went viral. A favorite pasttime of his is frequently playing the song in the Newspaper Club. About participating in the talent show, he said, “It was cool and a great idea to include everyone's special ability.”

Hopefully there are more talent shows, because they are amazingly fun and inspiring.
