Miss Evy Amditis was an inspector at Craighouse school for nine years, but on Friday, April 29th she had to leave us. She wants to accompany her son while he visits possible universities for him to attend.

At the end of June, she will be returning to Chile for some time, but she does not know for how long.

“I have thought a lot about all of you and how much I will miss each and every one of you,” Miss Evy wrote in her goodbye letter to all her ex pupils. Her heartfelt letter expressed how much she will miss every one of us in her time away.

Her impact on her co-workers was also very positive, proven by Mr. Kenneth Mayne, a Craighouse English teacher. He remembered her as "having time for everyone no matter what amount of work, difficulties or problems she may have. A wonderful person, a privilege to have known her.” Mr. Mayne has been working at Craighouse for 23 years, and he has known Miss Evy for a long time.

Throughout the pandemic, she worked in the morning welcoming in the students by spraying hand sanitizer and getting temperatures, alongside Luke Cooper, also a Craighouse Inspector.

“Miss Evy would always make me laugh, even on those freezing cold mornings when we were stuck outside.” Mr. Cooper was very close to Miss Evy, considering the multiple mornings they spent together.

Miss Dominique Dumay, a Craighouse alumna, has assumed Miss Evy’s previous position as Inspector.
